take place October 24-26, 2003, at the Wyndham Greenspoint
Hotel, 12400 Greenspoint Drive, Houston, Texas. The national
voluntary nonprofit organization ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer
Survivors¡¯ Association, Inc. <www.thyca.org> is the

This

following treatment, survivors of many years, and their family
members and friends.
Endocrinologists,
surgeons, nuclear medicine physicians, a pathologist, and a
palliative care physician will address issues ranging from
diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up testing to research
advances and future trends in thyroid cancer care.
An informal, give-and-take format will give
participants the chance for in-depth discussion of issues
related to thyroid cancer care.
Workshops led by mental health
professionals, attorneys, other
specialists, long-term survivors, and caregivers
will focus on quality of life, well-being, health insurance
and employment issues, caregivers¡¯ needs, and the
perspectives of long-term thyroid cancer survivors.
